Surabaya – TRAC, a subsidiary of PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA), through Astra International participated in Trans Java expedition from Surabaya to Semarang on Saturday (December 20). On the same occasion, President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Ngawi-Kertosono segment of the Trans Java Toll Road.
The inauguration was attended by Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, State-owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, Transportation Minister Budi Karya, East Java Governor Sukarwo, and the president directors of several state-owned enterprises (SOE).
Meanwhile, the management of Astra International and TRAC as the transport provider for the SOE representatives also attended the event.
For your information, four segments of the toll road have been inaugurated in the first phase. They were the Ngawi-Kertosono segment (the 37.9-km Wilangan-Kertosono Section) and the Jombang-Mojokerto segment (the 0.9-km Bandar-Kertosono Section). There were also the 6.3-km relocated Potong-Gempol toll road and 13.65-km Gempol-Pasuruan toll road (Pasuruan-Grati Section).
“Next year, Merak and Banyuwangi would be connected, God willing. It means that the mobility of goods, people, and logistics can be faster, cheaper, and on time, and later the toll road will be integrated with tourism zones and industrial zones,” President Joko Widodo said to Okezone.com on the same occasion.
Moreover, the president also believed that the Trans Java Toll Road can boost investments along the toll road. “We hope that the investments can open up as many job opportunities as possible,” he said.
