As a commitment to environmental sustainability, PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Division, once again drove forward the environmental conservation campaigns by hosting a webinar and workshop titled “End Plastic Pollution.” This hybrid event took place on Thursday, 12 June 2025, at Grha SERA Auditorium, Sunter, North Jakarta,
bringing together participants from the SERA Group internal community and environmentally conscious members of the public, particularly those concerned about plastic pollution. Designed as an educational and inspiring platform, the event was divided into two main sessions presenting SERA’s collaborative partners renowned for their significant contribution to the environmental movement: Sebumi and Rajut Nusa.
Sebumi, an organization advocating for sustainable lifestyles, was featured in the first session to share insights into the impact of plastic pollution on the environment and the need for behavioral change to cut the use of single-use plastics.
All participants explored the life cycle of plastic waste and how small everyday contributions, such as using a shopping bag or a reusable drinking bottle, can have a significant impact when done collectively. Sebumi also introduced environmental programs and movements the public can join to help protect the planet.
The second session put the spotlight on Rajut Nusa, a women’s empowerment community, showcasing how plastic waste can be transformed into economically valuable productslike knitted bags and handicrafts while fostering community empowerment.
At this session, all participants joined an interactive workshop on basic knitting techniques using recycled materials, designed to spark creativity while highlighting the circular economic potential of household waste.
This event forms part of SERA’s Sustainability Development program, aligning with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles promoted by the Astra Group. Through this activity, SERA seeks to raise awareness and inspire positive behavioral changes across all levels of society in addressing the escalating plastic pollution crisis.
The company believes that the change to achieve a cleaner and more sustainable future begins with small actions taken collectively. Through cross-sector collaboration and community empowerment, SERA continues to make tangible contributions to the environment and society.
