As a commitment to environmental sustainability, PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA) once again partnered with the Ocean Young Guard community in a marine and coastal ecosystem conservation program. This initiative took place on February 22-23, 2025, in the Kepulauan Seribu, involving around 45 participants who contributed to various environmental activities.
A series of actions were carried out to support nature conservation, including coral reef transplantation, mangrove planting, sea turtle conservation education, and beach clean-ups. These activities aim not only to maintain the balance of marine ecosystems but also to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.
Coral reef transplantation was one of the main focuses due to its role in preserving marine biodiversity. Healthy coral reefs serve as habitats for various species and help mitigate the impact of climate change. Additionally, mangrove planting was carried out to strengthen the coastline, prevent erosion, and serve as a sanctuary for marine life.
Environmental awareness was also reinforced through educational sessions about sea turtles. As an increasingly endangered species, sea turtle protection requires collective efforts, including support from local communities. Moreover, beach clean-up efforts were conducted to reduce the threat of plastic waste that can harm marine ecosystems.
This collaborative program aligns with SERA’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13 on Climate Action, Goal 14 on Life Below Water, and Goal 15 on Life on Land.
SERA hopes to continue creating a lasting positive impact and, with the involvement of various parties, inspire more individuals and communities to take part in protecting the environment. Every small step taken today can lead to significant change for the planet’s future. Let’s #PlantGoodness (#MenanamKebaikan).
