On November 23, 2022, Yayasan Filoksenia paid its first visit to Grha SERA in Sunter. Yayasan Filoksenia is a foundation that empowers neurodiverse artists. Neurodiverse itself refers to people with a different nervous system, including individuals with autism, ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), Tourette's syndrome, dyslexia, or dyspraxia as well as individuals with different types of nervous system.
PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA) and Yayasan Filoksenia has collaborated since April 2002 in providing support for four neurodiverse fellows with “Shine with Graphic Design (Berkarya Melalui Desain Grafis)”. The program was initiated by SERA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team with the goal of promoting sustainable social empowerment. It is hoped that the collaboration will empower these four neurodiverse fellows to hone their talents, enabling them to create their next best graphic design works and showcase the works through SERA Group’s promotional products. On that note, the program has also introduced people at SERA to a new social construct, in which neurodiverse people are not treated as handicapped individuals or the weak.
The guests from Yayasan Filoksenia, led by Romina S. Himawan, the Foundation Director, and Sylvia M. Siregar, the Foundation Founder, were received with warm welcome byYudas Tadeus, a SERA director, Happy Putro Wibowo, the Head of the Corporate General Affair, Social Responsibility, Health Safety Security and Environment (CGASRHSSE) Division, and Fransisca, the Head of the Marketing Division as well as by several representatives of SERA CSR and Marketing teams. After a get-to-know-you session and an icebreaker, the event proceeded with presentation of a token in the form of tumblers adorned with Filoksenia artists’ designs. As the visit drew to a close, the guests were invited to an office tour—taking a look around the Marketing Division’s office to see the team that is also responsible for creative design tasks at SERA Group work.
“The collaborative program has been a showcase of our commitment to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and the implementation of our SERA SPIRIT values. With this program, we hope that we can make positive contributions by empowering people with disabilities, helping them to live a quality life and contribute to the nation’s prosperity,” Happy Putro Wibowo concluded.
