Buying used cars through an auction mechanism is increasingly in demand due to its diverse advantages and conveniences. They range from the cars’ relatively cheaper prices and as-is conditions to a fairer and more open bidding process.
One of the auction houses you can choose for buying used cars is IBID. It even facilitates you to participate in online auctions from your mobile phone via the IBID application.
The application has an excellent feature that helps you win the auctions more easily called Auto Bid. This feature allows you to place a bid before the auction starts and automatically make the highest offer based on the limit you have set.
After successfully winning the used car you wanted, you need to complete some processes to acquire it. Check them out below.

After you are declared the winner, pay for the won used car within 5 days. If you exceed that time, you will be considered in default, and the transaction will be canceled.
Payment can be made online. Click the Konfirmasi (Confirmation) button in the IBID application, then determine the type of payment: cash or installment.
After that, make the payment using the virtual account option. Select a delivery method by choosing to pick it up at the location or have it delivered to your address. Ensure the billing details are correct before making a payment.
The next step is checking the purchase status in the delivery details. After that, pick up the used car at an IBID branch as early as 1 day after the payment date. You can also use a car delivery logistics service, depending on the delivery option chosen when making the payment.
If the won used car is not picked up within 5 days from the payment date, you will be charged a parking fee of Rp50,000/day.
When picking up the car, prepare the necessary pickup documents, including proof or transfer, auction winner confirmation (KPL), and a unit pickup letter from the IBID branch to ensure that the won used car is at the IBID car lot or consignor’s location.

Also, prepare a copy of the auction winner’s ID card and a Rp10,000 stamp duty. If vehicle pickup is represented, the representative must present their ID and a stamped power of attorney letter.
How to Pick Up the Won Used Car at IBID
Visit the pickup counter at the IBID car lot or branch. Then, submit the required documents, including the signed KPL, to the officer.
An IBID inspector will hand over the vehicle and keys.
Return to the IBID counter to collect the BPKB (Title and Registration Paper) and STNK (Vehicle Registration Certificate) as listed on the vehicle unit or stated in the IBID app notification.
The BPKB pickup time is stated in the unit information. For example, if it states 14 working days, this means the BPKB can be collected 14 working days after payment.
Keep the payment receipt to get the Auction Minutes Excerpt (Kutipan Risalah Lelang) to transfer the car’s ownership.
