National Children's Day, SERA Invites Friends with Special Needs to Learn Batik

To celebrate National Children's Day, PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA) once again carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program on 23 July 2025, at the Jendela Ibu Nawasena Foundation in Bogor Regency, West Java. Held as a workshop themed ‘Making Creative Batik Expressions with Friends with Special Needs,’ the event brought together 34 children, consisting of 14 children with special needs supported by the Ibu Nawasena Window Foundation and 20 PAUD students from Tanjung Ciawi.

During the activity, the participants received direct assistance from the batik creation facilitators of the SERA CSR team. The children learned the basic techniques of batik creation, starting from drawing the patterns and using a canting, to coloring the batik fabric. At the end of the event, they can take their batik creations home with them.

The Jendela Ibu Nawasena Foundation is a social institution dedicated to empowering children with disabilities, particularly those from underprivileged families. By providing support, such as educational and therapeutic services, this institution aims to create an inclusive educational environment. This aim aligns with two of SERA’s CSR pillars, which are Education and Community Empowerment. This activity also supports the fourth and eighth Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) points, namely Quality Education and Decent Work and Economic Growth.

“Today's batik creation activity is perfect for training children's sensory skills and focus. They also gained new skills that later could have economic value,” said Iftahni Jayanti, CEO of the Jendela Ibu Nawasena Foundation.

This activity is a manifestation of SERA’s commitment to continuously spreading sustainable benefits and kindness, especially to children with disabilities, so they can grow with enthusiasm and confidence, while enjoying equal access to achieve a brighter future. Because every child has the right to dream and make their dreams come true.
