In commemoration of World Mangrove Day on July 26, 2025, themed as “Mangroves: Our Shield Against Climate Change,” PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA) initiated an environmental action through mangrove and seagrass planting activity at the coastal area of Cuku Nyinyi, Pesawaran, Lampung.
In collaboration with Yayasan Pemuda Konservasi Indonesia (Indonesian Youth for Conservation Foundation/YAPERSI), the activity involved 55 participants from diverse backgrounds. The participants included volunteers from SERA employees based in Jakarta and Lampung, the Bina Jaya Lestari Forest Farmer Groups (KTH), the BPDAS (River Basin Management Office) of Way Seputih Way Sekampung, the Scouting Work Council of Lampung Province, and the local community.
Both mangroves and seagrass play a crucial role in the sustainability of the marine ecosystem and help reduce carbon emissions in the environment. This program shows SERA’s commitment to environmental sustainability by targeting the planting of 4,500 mangrove seedlings and 500 seagrass beds over the next 3 months. This action also contributes to the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 and 14, which are Climate Action and Life Below Water, respectively.
This initiative exemplifies SERA’s active role in preserving the stability of nature. Protecting marine ecosystems, strengthening coastal resilience, and increasing public awareness — every step taken is expected to bring about positive changes for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
