After tsunami hit Sunda Strait affecting
Lampung and Banten, a flash flood hit eastern Indonesia, to be exact in Sentani,
Papua, on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Therefore, SERA Group’s CSR had the
initiative to help lessen the burden of the flash flood survivors.
On April 22, 2019, Arinald as the
representative of SERA CSR in Jayapura, distributed donations, which consisted
of staple commodities, body soap, washing soap, sanitary napkins, etc. The
donations were distributed in three locations. The first location was SKB
Building, Sentani, Jayapura, with the refugees totaling 316 people from 78 households.
Meanwhile, the second and third locations were in the refugee camps near Lake
Sentani with the households totaling 10 and 8, respectively.
The program was expected to help lessen the
burden of the victims of the flash flood. Moreover, SERA Group’s presence was
also expected to benefit the people. The CSR activity was in line with a point
in Astra’s philosophy, which is “To be an Asset to the Nation”.
