Batik is not merely a cultural heritage but also serves as an engaging learning medium for young people. PT Serasi Autoraya (SERA) held another initiative inviting students to explore the process of making eco-friendly stamped batik using Indigofera as a natural dye.

Indigofera, derived from Indigofera tinctoria, is a natural dye used to produce a deep blue color. The experience of making stamped batik allows students to gain a deeper understanding of the process, as well as the cultural values and environmental awareness associated with it.

A total of 120 students from SMP 15 Yogyakarta enthusiastically participated in the stamped batik-making workshop on February 11, 2026 at the Prambanan Temple grounds.

Under the theme “Dare to create, love the culture, and show real action” (Berani berkarya, cinta budaya, beraksi nyata), participants were invited to explore more deeply the process of making batik using a stamping technique.

This process included stamping wax onto fabric and dyeing it with Indigofera. The students learned not only the batik-making process but also the cultural values embedded in the batik patterns.

Four volunteers from TRAC Yogyakarta also participated in the process, helping the students understand each step while encouraging them to create unique batik works.

Aligned with SERA’s commitment to social responsibility in education and the environment, this event reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to support cultural preservation and strengthen environmental awareness through an educational approach.

Looking ahead, SERA hopes to continue organizing educational programs to introduce younger generations to the richness of Indonesian culture and to foster environmental awareness through sustainable practices in the creative industry.
