For those who have not known, there is a new way to enjoy Lake Toba. TRAC, a subsidiary of Astra and one of the biggest car rental companies, has started to offer electric vehicle rental services to explore Lake Toba.
There are two electric vehicles from Toyota you can rent to explore Lake Toba and Samosir Island, i.e. the Toyota C+Pod with a seating capacity of two and the Toyota Prius PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) with a seating capacity of four.
The Toyota C+Pod can be used to go to Tuk Tuk, Tomok, Batuhoda, Parbaba, and Lumban Suhi. On the other hand, you can rent the Toyota Prius PHEV to explore Parapat, Kaldera, Sibea-bea, Padang Tele, Efrata, and the surrounding area.
You do not need to worry about the battery level. There is a main station and two substations to recharge the battery.

Self-drive rental using the Toyota C+Pod for 1–4 hours costs Rp88,000/hour. You only need to pay Rp425,000 and Rp530,000 to rent it for 12 hours and 24 hours respectively.
Meanwhile, to use the Toyota Prius PHEV with chauffeured service for 4 hours, you only need to pay Rp443,700. In addition, renting it with chauffeured service for 12 hours costs Rp1,004,700. Then, self-drive rental for 24 hours only costs Rp561,000.
